This Brickcom product is a high performance video server which helps users make an easy transition from an analog to IP-based surveillance system. It offers a single channel solution which integrates any analog camera into an IP system. Equipped with outstanding video processing capabilities, this video server brings the high video quality of IP cameras to any purchased or existing analog system!

This device is able to automatically scan analog signals (NTSC/PAL) and adapt to the optimum operation mode to offer the best video conversion possible. By offering H.264/M-JPEG/MPEG-4 triple codec compression, it is able to offer a flexible system which does not require high bandwidth and storage capabilities. Through these features, this video server is able to simultaneously deliver dual configurable video streams at 30fps (frames per second) at D1 resolution!

This wireless product also transforms any analog camera into one that is not restricted by location or landforms. By adopting the technology of IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n, a camera only needs to be set in an area with wireless coverage for the device to transmit the video feed. The WPS button allows for easy configuration and troubleshooting by simplifying the complicated camera-to-AP/Router connection. Furthermore, users do not have to worry about the data connection failing because each video server is equipped with a SD/SDHC memory card slot for local storage.

Support for Power over Ethernet (PoE) enables the video server, as well as the analog camera, to use the same cable for power and data transmission - eliminating the need to install an external power supply. By adopting the video enhancement technology of 3D de-interface, 3D noise reduction and WDR enhancement, this Brickcom video server is able to produce video with the same smooth and detailed quality offered by IP cameras.

Why is H.264 Important?

H.264 is an ITU standard for compressing video based on MPEG-4 that is popular, especially for high-definition video such as Blu-ray. Taking advantage of today's high-speed chips, H.264 delivers MPEG-4 quality with a frame size up to four times greater! It can also provide MPEG-2 quality at a reduced data rate, requiring as little as one third the original bandwidth.

Built-in SD-Card Storage

Local storage using optional SD-Cards allows you to record on the unit itself instead of having to have a recording device elsewhere. This is ideal for ensuring continued recording in the event of network problems, or in mobile installations where there is no permanent LAN. A 32GB SD card can store up to two days worth of continuous video even at the very highest quality and resolution (and much longer periods at lower settings). You can retrieve the recorded video on the SD card by FTP across the network (or Internet) or transfer the SD card into a reader on your PC.
