This fixed dome IP network camera is a full-featured, 3-axis camera with exceptional high resolution megapixel imaging. With a megapixel progressive sensor, built-in IR cut filter, and automatic IR night vision, this model is the perfect choice for 24-hour, indoor surveillance. The camera features a 3.3-12mm vari-focal lens and auto iris, which offers a wide viewing range to obtain the exact angle you require!

This model is designed to provide users with high quality video feed for an easily accessible security system. The embedded high performance image sensor and CPU allow for each camera to stream real time, high resolution video at 30 frames per second. It can transmit video using multiple codec compression options, such as MPEG- 4, and MJPEG. For easy viewing of the video feed, users can view the live feed from anywhere through an internet browser or 3G portable devices such as a smartphone.

Installation is simplified by the added support for Power over Ethernet (PoE) which enables the camera to receive power through the same cable as for data transmission. The DI/DO function allows users to connect this model to external alarms and sensor devices for added security protection!

With the included EasyConfig installation software, this series offers users an easy installation without the need for a strong technical background. What is a Megapixel, and Why is it Important?

A megapixel equates to 1 million pixels! With that said, this incredible camera brings you over a million pixels - all working together to bring you the larger, clearer, and crisper image you want for your surveillance needs!

Below is an image comparing the quality produced with a megapixel camera versus the smaller poorer quality corner image of a basic analog camera. As you can see, the resolution of some lesser cameras leave much to be desired, while the quality image this model is capable of conveying is excellent.

Remote Access from Smart Phones

All Brickcom cameras can provide live streaming to smartphones or other Internet connected mobile devices over 3G networks. This is compatible with leading phones including Apple iPhones™ and iPads™, Symbian™ based devices (e.g. Nokia) and Android™ based phones. No special software needs to be installed on the viewing device. Viewing is also possible on these devices using local WiFi. In conjunction with email alerts and motion detection, this enables you to provide rapid response to view live video after you have been alerted.

What is an Auto Iris?

The Auto Iris is electronically controlled. This allows the camera to maintain the lighting level by changing the spatial dynamic of the iris to obtain optimal quality imaging. It is applicable in situations where lighting conditions vary continuously. An auto iris allows the camera to adjust to get the best picture in a given lighting condition. The Auto Iris can be applied to both fixed and varifocal lenses.
The Auto Iris feature is highly flexible in producing consistent video signals as it can adjust to drastically changing light levels. An electronically controlled iris is perfect to maintain one consistent light level making them ideal for outdoor use or any other applications.

What is Auto Tracking White Balance?

White Balance allows the camera to adjust the tone according to the color temperature of the light source illuminating the subject. It allows the operator to see objects as they appear during daylight. Simply put, AWB is another image amplification feature designed to bring out the best qualities of the images provided by your camera.

What is Automatic Gain Control?

In low-light conditions, some security cameras use Automatic Gain Control (AGC) to artificially improve their “dynamic range” and produce usable images. AGC is basically a form of amplification where the camera will automatically boost the image received so that objects can be seen more clearly. In normal light conditions the camera will display a normal picture. However, when the light quality drops below a certain level the camera will begin to boost the signal to compensate for the lack of light.The advantage of this technique is that your camera will produce images in much lower light conditions than standard.

With Brickcom Easylink, you select your own unique Brickcom name within the camera's setup, such as JakeOffice.mybrickcom.com and the camera then makes the camera accessible to the outside world without having to manually configure your router, and without having to locate your current IP address. Your camera will always be available from your Brickcom URL http://JakeOffice.mybrickcom.com. Camera access is password protected of course, so only users who you give passwords to can view or configure your camera!

What Does Vari-Focal Lens Mean?

This camera is equipped with a vari-focal lens, meaning its focal length can be adjusted anywhere between its designated range. The Focal Length determines the field of vision. The smaller the focal length, the wider the field of vision. Take a look at the images below. Look how the church seems to zoom in as the size of the lens is changed.

The camera is the same distance from the church in each photo. A person can zoom in on the subject. Notice the sides of the street show less the more the camera zooms.

The principle is to adjust for the greatest amount of zoom effect, and therefore the most detail, and still cover the width of the field of vision desired.

Below, the photos shows the actual width of the field of vision at different lens settings but at the same distance.

Take note that the viewing angles achievable with this fixed dome camera can range anywhere from a near whole-room view ( at 3.3mm) to a very specific target area view (up to 12mm).
