What
is Auto Electronic Shutter?
AES
- (Automatic Electronic Shutter) allows the shutter speed to change
with response to the amount of perceived light to keep the signal
output at the best possible level. AES allows an iris to adapt
automatically to different lighting conditions. When the shutter speed
increases, the light passing through the lens is decreased and the
cameras sensitivity is reduced. When the shutter speed is decreased, a
larger amount of light enters the iris. For fast moving objects the
shutter speed can also be increased to provide a freeze effect in order
to provide higher resolution images.
What
is Auto Tracking White Balance?
White
Balance allows the camera to adjust the tone according to the color
temperature of the light source illuminating the subject. It allows the
operator to see objects as they appear during daylight. Simply put, AWB
is another image amplification feature designed to bring out the best
qualities of the images provided by your camera.

WDR
Function (Wide Dynamic Range)
The
highly accurate signal is
automatically processed to optimally capture the detail in both the
high and
low light areas of the scene simultaneously, maximizing the information
visible
in the picture.

What
is a Removable IR Cut Filter?
This
day and night camera delivers colour images during the day. As light
diminishes below a certain level, it can automatically switch to night
mode to make use of near infrared (IR) light to deliver high-quality,
black and white images.
Near-infrared
light, which spans from 700nm to 1000nm, is beyond what the human eye
can see, but this camera sensor can detect it and make use of it.
During
the day, a day/night camera uses an IR-cut filter. IR light is filtered
out so that it does not distort the colours of images as
the human eye sees them. When the camera is in night mode, the IR-Cut
filter is removed, which allows the camera's light sensitivity to reach
down to low lux levels!

What
is Auto Backlight Compensation?
Generally
speaking, with BLC the camera can sense the whole area of the frame and
measure the average light level. The working point will be based on
general testing of the whole environment. If there is a very bright
background with a very dim front image, back light compensation is
activated so that the camera can apply light to the dark zone. With
this feature a normally dark and unspecific image can be easily
transformed into a clear and easily interpreted one.

What
Does Vari-Focal Lens Mean?
This
camera is equipped with a vari-focal lens, meaning its focal length can
be adjusted anywhere between its designated range. The Focal Length
determines the field of vision. The smaller the focal length, the wider
the field of vision. Take a look at the images below. Look how the
church seems to zoom in as the size of the lens is changed.
The
camera is the same distance from the church in each photo. A person can
zoom in on the subject. Notice the sides of the street show less the
more the camera zooms.
The
principle is to adjust for the greatest amount of zoom effect, and
therefore the most detail, and still cover the width of the field of
vision desired.
Below,
the photos shows the actual width of the field of vision at different
lens settings but at the same distance.

650
TV Lines for Clearer Resolution
TVL
(or TV Lines) is defined as the maximum number of alternating light and
dark lines that can be resolved. A resolution of 400TVL means that 200
distinct dark lines and 200 distinct white lines can be counted over a
horizontal span equal to the height of the picture.
So
what does this mean to you?
In a
nutshell,
more TV
lines means higher resolution, and better picture quality! With that
said, you can feel confident in choosing this camera because it will
provide you with consistent high quality images!
