Overview
This
camera is a high-performance plate-capture camera, equipped with
600TV Lines of High Resolution (700TV Lines in Black and White) and a
1/3” SONY Super HAD II CCD image sensor.
This model is equipped with an outstanding feature set that ensures
seamless integration and enhanced performance when used in conjunction
with external License Plate Recognition (LPR) software.
Outfitted
with powerful
infrared LED lights that provide 150’ Night Vision,
this camera works perfectly even in total darkness to deliver clear
plate images. Its vari-focal
IR-corrected lens
with auto
iris
keeps it in focus day and night, optimizing performance even in very
low light conditions; and with a
7.5-50mm focus range,
this camera can provide an enormous visibility range.
Furthermore,
this model offers flexible signal recognition in both
NTSC and PAL,
along with vandal
and water resistant structuring,the
ability to clearly
capture objects moving as fast as 124mph or 200 km/h, and
a number of
other image enhancing features!
In
short, this camera provides the reliability and round-the-clock
surveillance-and-capture capabilities crucial to maximizing the
efficiency of LPR applications. And with DuncansOnline
competitive pricing and exceptional customer service
- you won’t find a better deal on the market!
What
is an Auto Iris?
The
Auto
Iris
is electronically controlled. This allows the camera to maintain the
lighting level by changing the spatial dynamic of the iris to obtain
optimal quality imaging. It is applicable in situations where lighting
conditions vary continuously. An auto iris allows the camera to adjust
to get the best picture in a given lighting condition. The Auto Iris
can be applied to both fixed and varifocal lenses.
The
Auto Iris feature is highly flexible in producing consistent video
signals as it can adjust to drastically changing light levels. An
electronically controlled iris is perfect to maintain one consistent
light level making them ideal for outdoor use or any other applications.
What
is Auto Electronic Shutter?
AES
- (Automatic Electronic Shutter)
allows the shutter speed to change with response to the amount of
perceived light to keep the signal output at the best possible level.
AES allows an iris to adapt automatically to different lighting
conditions. When the shutter speed increases, the light passing through
the lens is decreased and the cameras sensitivity is reduced. When the
shutter speed is decreased, a larger amount of light enters the iris.
For fast moving objects the shutter speed can also be increased to
provide a freeze effect in order to provide higher resolution images.
In
this particular model, an Auto Electronic Shutter has been combined
with an Auto Iris to provide even higher quality light control.
What
is Automatic Gain Control?
In
low-light conditions, some security cameras use Automatic Gain Control
(AGC) to artificially improve their “dynamic range” and produce usable
images. AGC is basically a form of amplification where the camera will
automatically boost the image received so that objects can be seen more
clearly. In normal light conditions the camera will display a normal
picture. However, when the light quality drops below a certain level
the camera will begin to boost the signal to compensate for the lack of
light. The advantage of this technique is that your camera will produce
images in much lower light conditions than standard.
What
is Auto White Balance?
White
Balance allows the camera to adjust the tone according to the color
temperature of the light source illuminating the subject. It allows the
operator to see objects as they appear during daylight. Simply put, AWB
is another image amplification feature designed to bring out the best
qualities of the images provided by your camera.
What
is Auto Backlight Compensation?
Generally
speaking, with BLC the camera can sense the whole area of the frame and
measure the average light level. The working point will be based on
general testing of the whole environment. If there is a very bright
background with a very dim front image, back light compensation is
activated so that the camera can apply light to the dark zone. With
this feature a normally dark and unspecific image can be easily
transformed into a clear and easily interpreted one.

What
Does Vari-Focal Lens Mean?
This
camera is equipped with a vari-focal lens, meaning its focal length can
be adjusted anywhere between its designated range. The Focal Length
determines the field of vision. The smaller the focal length, the wider
the field of vision. Take a look at the images below. Look how the car
seems to zoom in as the size of the lens is changed.
The
camera is the same distance from the car in each photo. A person can
zoom in on the subject. Notice the sides of the street show less the
more the camera zooms.
The
principle is to adjust for the greatest amount of zoom effect, and
therefore the most detail, and still cover the width of the field of
vision desired.
Below,
the photos shows the actual width of the field of vision at different
lens settings but at the same distance.
Fog Penetration
This
model's fog penetration technology peers through fog and smoke to
recover real color images from foggy or smoky video streams, enhancing
the camera’s identification ratio by delivering more information-rich
imagery.
Scheduled
ICR Day/Night Switching
When
subjected to external lighting changes like headlights, sensor-based
switches can accidently change modes. This caused cameras to capture
b/w images in daylight and color images at night. To prevent this,
users can set up a schedule to switch between color mode and b/w mode.
For example, set the camera to switch to color mode at 7:00AM and
switch to b/w mode automatically at 7:00PM. Scheduled switching ensures
that the camera remains unaffected by external factors and continues to
capture images in the correct mode.
CatchAllTM technology enables the camera to suppress highbeam
headlights and capture crisp, clear images for identification.

Wide
Dynamic Range
Wide dynamic
range optimizes an image to ensure that dark areas are more visible
while retaining detail in bright areas. WDR is ideal for scenes where
objects are difficult to recognize due to severe backlight or shadows.
Places like bank entrances tend to be under lit or over lit. A typical
camera would produce an image where a person in the dark area could
hardly be recognized, whereas WDR cameras produce clear details not
only of the person in the foreground but also of the background.
Shadow
Adjustment
The
shadow adjustment function adjusts exposure levels in shadowed portions
of images to make dark areas more visible while retaining detail in
bright areas. Similar to the WDR technology, this function enables the
camera to capture clear images in extreme high-contrast lighting
environment.
3D
DNR
3D noise
reduction is a powerful method for reducing image noise that produces
extremely clear images even in very dim lighting conditions.
Intelligent
Traffic Modes
The camera
integrates four intelligent traffic modes that enable it to adjust
automatically to the image-capture environment. Intelligent traffic
cameras adjust to the mode appropriate for conditions, enabling them to
monitor surrounding areas to gather information on vehicle type, color
and shape.
